  • May 2012: homeward by way of India, Hungary, France and Germany
  • July, 2011: commodity prices double, strikes and protests ensue
  • February 18, 2011: presidential elections
  • July 11, 2010: al Shabob detonates two bombs in Kampala
  • April 22, 2010: depart for my site 40km outside of Gulu in northern Uganda
  • April 21, 2010: completed training (round 2 cockadoodle doo) and sworn in as volunteer at ambassador's residence in Kampala
  • February 7, 2010: depart for Uganda
  • December 2009: accept invitation to Uganda
  • October 30, 2009: Peace Corps Guinea program suspended and I reapply for another post
  • October 5, 2009: Peace Corps orders departure and consolidation in neighboring Mali
  • October 1, 2009: arrive at my site, Lafou
  • September 28, 2009: government troops murder and rape hundreds of citizens attending a political rally in Conakry
  • September 27, 2009: departed Conakry to Labe, the capital city of the mountainous Fouta region
  • September 25, 2009: completed training and sworn in as volunteer at the capital city of Conakry
  • July 5, 2009: left for training in Guinea
  • April 17, 2009: accepted invitation to Guinea
  • January 2009: medically cleared
  • June 2008: interviewed and nominated
  • May 2008: submitted PC application
